A native of North Carolina, Chuck is a graduate of Furman University. After college, Chuck and his wife, Melissa, worked with a university ministry sharing the gospel with college students trying to figure out life. Being called to pastor, Chuck attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando where he completed his Master of Divinity. He also completed his Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen where he studied the works of John Calvin.

Before arriving at Christ Church Presbyterian in 2014, Chuck served as an assistant pastor at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN and also planted Church of the Ascension in Arlington, VA. Under Chuck’s leadership, God has revitalized Christ Church’s ministry, restoring the congregation in its worship and communal life. Alongside his duties at Christ Church, Chuck teaches at RTS where he serves as Dean of the Chapel and helps prepare the next generation of pastors and teachers for gospel ministry.

Chuck and Melissa have been married for twenty-two years. They have three children who fill their home with joy, conversation, and competitive board game play. The Colson dinner table is always open to guests and friends.
