God gifts each of us uniquely so that we can invest our lives in his Kingdom. As a church, our life together is a full-body work out, involving everyone. Because Jesus has served us we seek to serve others.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the one true hope for our broken and tired world. He alone can reconcile us to God and one another. Therefore, we are committed to sending out men and women who share, in word and deed, the life-giving message of the Gospel.
Our goal is to build strategic partnerships with organizations and individuals committed to advancing the kingdom through relief and development work, evangelism and discipleship ministries, theological education, and supporting indigenous church planting movements.
Due to the sensitive nature of their work, we do not post information on-line about the various fields our missionaries serve. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our missionaries and their work through our various publications so that you can join us in our weekly prayers, assisting their ministries before the throne of grace.
While committed to the advance of the gospel around the world, we are also deeply invested in God’s work in Jacksonville. We love Jacksonville and desire for our city to experience the renewing power of the gospel. We long for the day when every aspect of life – social, religious, and economic – will reflect the good order and peace of God’s kingdom.
As we work towards that end, we recognize we can’t do this alone. Our commitment to the renewal of all things requires strategic partnerships that extend our reach into the world’s many broken places. We labor alongside others in joyful expectation of the coming kingdom of God.
Please get to know our various partners in the city. And, we encourage you to get involved with their ministries. There are countless ways to serve and contribute to God’s work in Jacksonville.
Each week there are multiple opportunities to serve at Christ Church. In order to function in a healthy way, we need every member, young and old, to give of themselves for the sake of our body. Our goal is to create a unique volunteer culture at Christ church that defies the typical 80/20 Principle that defines – and stymies – most churches.
Consider a few of the following ways to get involved:
Meals Ministry – making meals for those in need whether new moms, grieving families, or sick members.
Nursery Volunteers – a rotating schedule of volunteers working with paid professionals to work in the Infant (0-1) and Toddler Nursery (1-2).
A/V Team - a rotating schedule of volunteers to work in the sound booth on Sunday mornings. Training will be provided.
Ushers – serving on a team to welcome, pass out bulletins, and collect the offering.
Musicians – using musical talents to edify our congregational worship.
Scripture Reading – reading Scripture as part of Sunday morning worship.
Connect Team – a rotating schedule of greeters for Sunday morning who create a warm and welcoming environment for newcomers and regular attenders.
Food & Events – assist with special events at the church as needed.
Children’s Ministry – teaching in our children’s ministry during the School of Discipleship.
Youth – leading a small group of middle or high schoolers.
